Hallam have reintroduced a reserve side into the Sheffield County Senior League. Hallam's last reserve side competed in the Sheffield County Senior League and had done so for a number of years until departing in 2003, most of the time was spent in the Premier Division

This season the new reserve side will compete in the Sheffield County Senior League Division Two, this is 6 levels below our current first team.

Reserves Travel Guide 2008/2009

This is different to First Team and Under 19s Travel Guide as in most cases admission and information about the ground won't be there. Why? The standard is extremely low, this is Step 11 of non-league. Its always worth taking some money in case I am wrong.

Aston:

Name: Swallownest Miners Welfare

Where is the ground?: Rotherham Road, Swallownest, S26 4UR

Directions?: Through Sheffield, up the Parkway, branch towards Worksop and Mosborough. Where the A57 goes right in Swallownest continue onto the B6053 onto Chesterfield Road which becomes Rotherham Road

Distance?: 12.0 miles

 

Athersley Recreation Reserves:

Name: Sheerien Park

Where is the ground?: Ollerton Road, Barnsley

Directions?: M1 North to Junction 37 and take 3rd exit at the roundabout, A628 Barnsley. Head onto the A61 Wakefield, take a right onto Laithes Lane B6132 and take the 4th left onto Lindhurst Road then an immediate right onto Ollerton Road

Distance?: 19.0 miles

 

Bramley Sunnyside Juniors:

Name: Bill Hawes Recreation Ground

Where is the ground?: Wroxham Way, Bramley, Rotherham

Directions?:  Head for the Parkway and go on towards M1 Junction 33, instead of taking the M1 go across onto the A630. Take the second exit on the roundabout onto the A631 and follow for 3.5 miles. Take a left onto Main Street, an immediate right onto Ranworth Road, this becomes Bramley Grange Crescent and follow it round before taking a left onto Wroxham Way. If you go too far this is on a loop so don't worry

De la Salle Old Boys

Name: Beauchief Hall

Where is the ground?: Beauchief Drive, Beauchief, Sheffield

Directions?: Eccleshall Road to Parkhead Cricket Club and take a left down Abbey Lane. Follow Abbey Lane across the crossroads taking the first right on Beauchief Abbey Lane and bearing left onto Beauchief Drive

Distance?: 4.5 miles

 

Handsworth Reserves

Name: Olivers Mount

Where is the ground?: Olivers Mount, Sheffield

Directions?: Head into Sheffield City Centre, go up the Parkway. Branch left, then at roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A6102 (signposted Ring Road, Meadowhall, Darnall) At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Main Road - B6200 (signposted Handsworth) take a left onto Olivers Drive then an immediate right onto Olivers Mount

Distance?: 7.7 miles.

 

High Green Villa

Name: Thorncliffe Playing Fields

Where is the ground?: Thorncliffe Playing Fields

Directions?: A61 out of Sheffield heading towards M1 Junction 36. Turn right onto Bracken Hill (signposted Burncross), follow this to the crossroads with Mortomley Lane, go straight on  to Mortomley Close

Distance?: 8.2 miles

Penistone Church Reserves

Name: The Memorial Ground

Where is the ground?: Church View Road, Penistone

Directions?:  Head out of Sheffield on the A61 towards Junction 36 of the M1, branch left on the A629 Huddersfield, after 7 miles take a left onto the A628 Manchester. Take a left onto the B6462 Bridge Street, bear right onto Eastfield Avenue and take an immediate right onto Church View Road.

Phoenix Sports Club

Name: Phoenix Park

Where is the ground?:  The Phoenix Sports & Social Club, Pavilion Lane, Off Bawtry Road (A631) Brinsworth, Rotherham S60 5PA

Directions?:  Exit the M1 at J33. Follow the A630 Rotherway towards Rotherham. At the first roundabout turn left onto A631 dual carriageway for Rotherham. At next roundabout (McDonalds on corner) turn left onto A631 Bawtry Road. Sign for the Phoenix Sports & Social Club is about 1/2 mile on the right. Turn right into Pavilion Lane and follow to club house. Plenty of parking

Where is the ground?: Shafton Park, off High Street, Shafton, Barnsley

Directions?: A61 straight into Barnsley branching right onto the A635 (Doncaster) Turn left onto Oak Well Lane and a right onto the A628. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit signposted Shafton. Take a right on High Street, the ground is off High Street

Distance?:  19.5 miles

 

Sheffield Bankers

Name: Sheffield United Cricket Club

Where is the ground?:  Bawtry Road, Brinsworth

Directions?: Head out towards Junction 34 of the M1 and take a right onto the A631, Brinsworth. The ground is on the right.
