It was a five star performance from Hallam, who put in arguably their best performance of the season to come out comprehensive winners over Harrogate Railway Athletic at Sandygate. It was a cracking afternoon at Sandygate on Saturday . Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side Staveley Miners Welfare advanced to the First Preliminary Round of the Emirates FA Cup-and a home tie with Lincoln United, after a battling 2-0 win over Hallam at Sandygate yesterday.
It was a cracking tie watched by another fine crowd of 304 with absolutely nothing in the game entering the final few minutes.
But the encounter turned at the very death in a pivotal few minutes. First, Hallam striker Jordan Turner went desperately close with a far post header after a terrific right-wing cross; then the Trojans raced up the other end for substitute Kurtis Morley to strike from close range after a goalmouth scramble.
Hallam Show Mettle to Peg Back Steelmen

Hallam’s first pre-season game of the 2019/20 season ended in defeat, as Sheffield FC ran out 4-0 winners in the latest edition of the World’s Oldest Derby at The Coach & Horses Ground. A convincing win for the home side, but a very good run out for The Countrymen nonetheless.
Extra Time Frustration for battling Countrymen
It was a thrilling afternoon in Cleckheaton yesterday; but when the dust had settled, it was NCEL Premier Division side Liversedge who advanced to the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Vase after edging past Hallam after extra time.
