Name

Mark Armitage

 Age

52, mentally 15.

Job

Decorator.

Your first visit to Sandygate Road?
Many years ago my dad brought me up to watch a game, early 1970's at a guess.

Who do you attend the games with?
My 2 daughters Ellie and Beth as well as my mother Shirley. Sometimes my wife Joanne does as well.

Your role at the club?
First and foremost I'm a supporter but in the summer I gave my work partner Glenn a hand, volunteering with decorating everything at Sandygate Road from the club house to the changing rooms. There were a few others who volunteered too which just goes to show the loveliness of this club.

Have you ever played or scored on the world's oldest pitch?

I've never had the pleasure but I have stood on the pitch and the slope is quite surprising.

Favourite or most stand out moment while following Hallam?

Finishing in the play offs 2 seasons running is quite an achievement so I'll say that as the most stand out moment.

Favourite away ground and why?
Armthorpe at Christmas was probably my favourite as quite a few of us went on the train and it made for a great day out despite Hallam only drawing 1-1. To top the day off, our youngest member to travel with us, Alfie got to keep his heroes (Dave Darwent) match worn gloves.

Do you stand on the terraces or sit in the stand for home matches?
I sit in the stand as my mum is 82 plus it gives her a perfect view of the pitch. She's also tiny so she can't see if anyone stands in front of her!

Wednesday, United or other?
Again my mum, my two girls and I have season season tickets at Hillsborough. Sheffield is blue and white!

At half time is it a pint at the bar or a pasty from Ann's cabin?
A pint usually to wash down a pasty I'll have had in the first half.

How many layers do you wear to a mid-week game in January?
I've stopped counting but it's never enough....several socks, gloves, scarfs, hats, all essential!

What would you say to a first time visitor to Sandygate Road?

Come for the Football, stay for the beer and great snack cabin but wrap up warm. The friendly hospitality from the staff to the supporters will make you more than happy enough to return in those cold Sandygate evenings.

Where do you think Hallam will finish this season?

Hopefully we can keep pushing until the end for that last play off spot.

Have you ever won the raffle?
No, but my mum did win the chocolates once.
