Shirebrook Town

This is a ground that I love! Three stands, one large terrace and two grassbanks to make the ground look special. I am to include day out of the year at the end of the season. The ground is nothing short of classic in my opinion. This ground can compare to Pickering Town, Glasshoughton, Selby and Garforth (which are some my other favourite grounds) If Shirebrook moved up a few leagues to the Unibond they could certainly develop a big stadium. It might hold 2000 now but could hold thousands more if Shirebrook build up towards the Conference

The Gambian National Side - Independence Stadium - Bakau

We're here at last!

The bad light is due to me turning night mode on my phone so that the pictures are visible.

It was 37 C on the day that I took them I was boiling at the time. Apparently it holds between 15000 - 30000 but I dont know the exact figure. I did go to internet cafes quite regularly to see how Hallam were doing and if I go back I will be doing the same thing! If there's anything I dont like that's not knowing how Hallam or Sheffield Wednesday are doing!

Arnold Town - The King George V Recreation Ground - No pictures!

Glasshoughton Welfare - The Glasshoughton Centre

What a day. I arrived in Castleford at 2:20 but couldn't find the ground until ten minutes to kick off. I payed £1 for admission and £1 for an impressive programme. The main stand was small and had metal benches bolted into the ground. Both ends were narrow and the covered end was more impressive.

Glapwell - Hall Corner

I first reported on Hallam at Sandygate playing against Glapwell and my personal opinion of the club hasn't changed one bit. I paid £2.50 and was given a clear insight of the ground. The main stand was leaking and had broken seats .Poles where supporting the old, run down cabane  I chose to stand next to Hallam's dug-out where I'd be safe

Garforth Town

The review

I have reasons for liking or disliking a ground. Today I saw the most modern stadium in the NCEL. The stand reminded me of entering Hillsborough like I did a few years ago. Coming up a set of stairs behind a stand. I went to the top row and I had a staggering view, you could see the M1 and see what was behind the stands. Their was 4 blocks of seats each holding 60-70 seats.

If the foilage behind one of the goals was removed and they could build on the playing field sides, the ground could look like a fortress with a covered terrace on each of the other sides.

With a stadium like it is Garforth Town football club could be on the move.

Selby Town - Flaxley Road Ground

I think this is a classic non-league ground. Every stand looking unique. I arrived at 14:30 and saw when I stood inside the ground how unusual it was. I was expecting 4 sides of open terrace and stand stuck on its own. I loved the ground, it reminds you that how good the non-league is.

Sheffield Club

Another great away day today at Sheffield Club in Dronfield. I liked the ground but the miserable conditions spoilt it with many of my pictures turning out too dark/bright. I entered the ground at 14:20 and it cost £2 to get in. I was instantly impressed and was able to get freely round the ground. At quarter to three I took up a place on the packed covered terrace.

Buxton

Buxton, Buxton, Buxton! I was looking forward to this game for weeks. I did expect 500 people there and a good atmosphere. It was £3 to get in which I thought was quite steep. I walked round the ground, I was very impressed by the big covered terrace and the open end. The main stand looked tired and floodlights impeded my view.
