Points Lost in the Fog

Posted 24th November 2012 - Posted in Match Reports

Every game at Sandygate is important this season as the Countrymen try and climb away from the bottom three. The quality of their perfromances are there for all to see however they still appear to be struggling to kill off games when on top.

When Aaron Moxom opened the scoring  on 15 minutes no one could argue that Hallam deserved their lead and when Captian Ben Kistell hit the bar with a header moments later it looked as if it was going to be a good day at the office. Unfortunately as the fog dropped down over Sandygate Road the opposition grew in confidence and started to worry a solid Hallam defensive line.

Taking their 1-0 lead into the second half Hallam struggled to get back into their rythem and only started causing problems again in the dying minutes of the game however as Eccleshill probed for the equaliser a long range effort was saved valiantly by the Hallam Keeper who was unable to hold the shot and it was the opposition who reacted the quickest to slot the ball home to gain a share of the valuable points.
