High flying Emley were brought back down to earth by a free flowing football display by the Countrymen on a sticky wicket at Sandygate Road.
Falling behind to a third minute penalty converted by Ashley Flynn, Hallam never looked back and when Liam Moxom broke free on 25 minutes and finished expertly at the Highlander End it was no more than they deserved.Although the score remained level at the break Hallam should have gone in with a lead.
As the second half progressed it was end to end with both keepers making good saves and it was only a matter of time before someone went in front.
A triple substitution by Julian Watts after 70 minutes was to be decisive and with fresh legs up front it was busy midfielder Adam Carter who struck a beauty on 75 minutes and celebrated with a double somersault of Olympic proportion.Just four minutes later a free flowing move down the right was finsihed by Liam Morris who burried the ball in the corner of the net.
That appeared to be game over then on 80 minutes Adam Carter pounced on a loose ball to make it 4-1 and put the seal on a comprehensive victory for Hallam.
