A dream finish to an excellent week for Julian Watts men from Sandygate when they travelled to Askern Villa.

After taking the lead on 14 minutes from the in form Aaron Moxom, Villa hit back through Leon Cusworth on 27 however Craig Getliff wrestled back the lead for Hallam just a minute later and that is how it stayed until half time.

No one could have forecast what would unfold in the second half as Hallam gave a master class in finishing. It was James Cook who scored the Countrymen's third after 52 minutes then Craig Getliff (65) and Aaron Moxom (73) both claimed a brace on the day.

Villa hoped it couldn't get any worse but late goals from the busy Conor Sellars on 88 and the hard working Adam Carter on 89 left the travelling fans in seventh heaven.

The reserves also returned to action having not played since late November and won a close affair with Penistone 5-4 with Scott Whttington grabbing 4 of the goals.

To end a goal crazy weekend Hallam's U-18 side beat Sheffield Rangers 7-0 in the  Sunday Premier Division with goals from Hewitt (3), Cowen, Mutamba, Ward and Roden.
