Countrymen scare High Flyers

Posted 21st April 2013 - Posted in Match Reports

When one of the top clubs visits Sandygate and take the lead after just 8 minutes (Jon Oglesby) you have to fear the worse however this was not to be the case against Cleethorpes Town.

Although still one goal down at the interval the Countrymen came out and drew level from a Connor Sellars penalty on 65 minutes. This gave Julian Watt's men new belief and when Craig Getcliff struck on 86 minutes to make it 2-1 to Hallam the points looked to be staying in Sheffield.

The joy was short lived and as with all good sides still in with a chance of the runners up spot , Luke Mitchell equalised on 88 to give Cleethorpes a share of the spoils.

The penultimate first team game at Sandygate is against Dinnington Town on Thursday 25th with an 8 pm Kick off.
