Hallam share the spoils

Finally the game that was abandoned on Boxing Day was played in conditions which were the total opposite of those witnessed on the last occassion. A hard uneven surface which has just been heavily sanded in preparation for next season caused both teams problems and didn't help the flow of the game.

Both teams showed commitment and fight but little craft was on display so it was not surprising when the teams went in level at half time.

The second period was not much better although Hallam had a spell when they looked the most likley team to break the deadlock however as with games of this nature it was Dinnington who put together a flowing move down the right hand side and took the lead with only 10 minutes or so left on the clock.

Hallam to their credit lifted their game and went looking for the equaliser and when everyone thought time had run out Danny Booth met a deep corner from Danny Deakin and the players looked on as the ball bounced and bobbled past the Dinnington keeper and his defenders on the line to give the Countrymen a deserved share of the points.

Come and join us for the last first team home game of the season on Monday night against Askern Villa.
