In this final showcase pre-season game at Sandygate, a young Hallam side matched their young counterparts from Sheffield United's Academy. The crowd of 340 spectators appreciated the stylish football played throughout the match which only lacked a goal.

The show was stolen by the left hand post at the Claremont end which denied United's Jake Erye towards the end of the first half and then , in the dying minutes of the game, denied Hallam's Sam Eckhardt as he flicked the ball over the advancing keeper.

The next game at Sandygate is on Sunday 8th September when the Countrymen will host ex-manager Julian Watts and his Shirebrook team in the FA Vase.
