Young Blades and Hornets in action

Posted 19th December 2013 - Posted in Fans News Young Blades to Play at Sandygate

Last night at a very wet and windy Sandygate Sheffield United's U-18 Academy side played an entertaining game against their counterparts from Watford.

The visitors took a 1-0 lead into the break although United had the best opportunities and were only kept out by an inspired perfromance by the young Hornets goalkeeper. Even when he conceeded a penalty the resulting kick went wide of his left hand post. As conditions worsened in the second half more goals were imminent  and the game eventually ended in a 3-3 draw. The pick of the bunch was a goal from ,you guessed it, the Watford keeper who cleared the ball up the hill and straight into the United net !

The next game for the young Blades at Sandygate is in  January when they play the Australian Olympic Development Squad so come and watch the stars of tomorrow and enjoy some Countrymen Hospitality !
