Waddles ALL STARS shine at Hallam

Posted 21st March 2014 - Posted in Club News Waddles ALL STARS at Hallam

Chris Waddle brought his ALL STAR team to Sandygate on Sunday for a Charity game in aid of the Sheffield Cathedral Archer Project for the homeless and vulnerable.

The gates opened to the Oldest Football Ground in the World at 12.00 PM with the first game against "The Firm"  a team of local business people captained by Mick Fox who had paid for the pleasure of lining up against a team of famous ex local professionals including the likes of David Holdsworth, David Hirst ,John Sheridan and of course Chris Waddle himself.

In the second game against the Hallam All-Stars the game went right to the wire with Hirst having missed a penalty and a last gasp effort from Hallam just rolling the wrong side of the posr with the keeper beaten. Even so the All Stars edged it 3-2.

The EventsFC  team from Hallam University who put a lot of hard work into organising the event with the assistance of Hallam's Kevin Scott and of course Chris Waddle himself, hoped to have exceeded their target of raising £2500 for the charity.

We would like to thank eveyone who truned out to support the event.
