Posted 21st April 2015 - Posted in Club News Congratulations ...... Two of our junior sides, U13’s and U18’s recently completed their sessions, heres what their managers had to say… U13’s manager Mick Grant says “Hallam FC U13's, have secured 4th spot in Division C (Green) in their inaugural Season.   We approached the FA during the close season, to apply for entry into a division, that we would be able to be competitive in, rather than start at the very bottom of the league.   After what would appear to be a compelling argument, the league graciously accepted our application to fill a vacant spot in Division C Green of the Sheffield and District Junior League for the 2014/15 season. Whilst one can never be certain how a season is going to pan out, we were always more confident than hopeful of proving ourselves at this level, and so it proved as the season went on.   The early part of the season was a little of a rollercoaster with results bouncing around, but after a winter signing, our season steadied  as we went on a seven match unbeaten run, which included 6 straight wins and a 0-0 draw!   The lads have been a pleasure to train, and their hard work and dedication has paid off in spades. We knew we had quality in the team at the start of the season, but to finish 4th, was potentially a dream too far.   I would like to pay tribute to all of the mums and dads that have stood in wind/rain/sleet/sunshine?? et al. To Steve Basford, Chris Taylor, Kev Scott and all of the Hallam Committee for their help, support and interest throughout the season. To Gary Evans for his help and assistance, and obviously to all of the lads, who have done themselves so proud. Congratulations to:- Mitchell, Benedict, Victor, Korrigan, Jack W, Josh, Sinon, Jack C, Brandon, Charlie, Scott, Mason, Tom and Tyle. Also extending my thanks to Rachael Duke, ‘My secretary”, club treasurer and chief runner around and organizer.” U18’s manager Paul Cartledge says “After a mixed start to the season and with a complete team of new players (mainly first years) , Hallam Wisewood  under 18s have managed to secure a third place finish in the 1st division ,with 1 game left to play.  The team have improved massively over the season and formed a great bond and a togetherness that has pushed them as a group up the league and individually 2 of the 16 year old players have represented the under 19s. Our aims for next season are to have 2 teams (1 in the premier division and one in the 1st division) and to produce more players for the under 19s.”
