Worksop step into the Gap

With Sheffield United pulling out of Tuesday night's friendly at Sandygate Hallam entertained Premier league Worksop Town who they would like to thank for stepping into the breach.
The Countrymen were looking to improve on the 2-2 away draw at Swallownest and in an evenly balanced affair the visitors went in at half time leading 1-0 after a goal on 9 minutes from Kyle Jordan. Having said that the Countrymen were unlucky to have a clever header from Michael Blythen adjudged to be offside just before the break.
Hallam took the initiative in the second half playing up the slope and after some concerted pressure drew level on 75 minutes with a stunning strike into the top corner from Mark Kokot, his first goal since returning to the club.
The home side looked the most likely to seal the victory then on 86 minutes Worksop broke quickly and Sam Baird struck the winner.
