NCEL Play off Semi Final

Hallam FC were denied a place in the NCEL Play-off final following a valient effort at Bradley Road.

The countrymen went into the break 2 up following two quick goals just before halftime by Michael Blythen, at that stage we all started to dream.

Just to prove that football is truly a game of two halves the second half went into Grimsby's favour.

As the second half started Grimsby went straight on the attack and the first of Grimsby goals came from Caine Winfarrah.

Jack Debnam brought Grimsby level on the 55th minute and then it was game on with chances for both sides.

The breakthrough came in the 74 minute when Adam Dury stuck in Grimsbys 3rd at close range from a deflection.

As the game came to a close Hallam came close with some fine football but ultimately were unable to find the equaliser.

Best wishes to Grimsby Borough who will be at home to Penistone Church in the play-off final.

Well done to the Hallam FC team on this sessons efforts, its been by far the best season I have watched in 7 years.

And to the Hallam FC supports, lets get behind this team and roar them towards an automatic place next season.
