Hallam 3 Bootle 0

Goals from Thomas Roebuck, Sam Fewkes and Josh Gibson sealed an impressive victory for Hallam in front of a vast crowd of 300 plus to cement their place in the next round of the FA Cup.

Hallam started the proceedings the brighter and Andrew Fox saw his shot fly just right of the right hand upright. The hosts continued to press and had further efforts at goal through Jack Lamely and Tony Rendell as Bootle struggled to get into their stride.

The Countrymens pressure beared fruit however as they struck on the stroke of half time as a looping ball into the box by Harry Bamforth was brilliantly headed across goal by Brad Morton for Roebuck to nod in from two yards. HALLAM 1-0

Hallam didn't need long to double their lead in the second half. Two minutes to be precise as Sam Fewkes cross-come-shot looped in over the visitors keeper Jordan Gidley though at the time confusion rained as the ball slipped through a gap in the net however the goal stood to the delight of the home faithful. HALLAM 2-0.

The Bucks were forced to step up their game a notch and tested the hosts keeper Dave Darlnent with efforts from Ste Jones and Jack Leamey. Bootle pressed but in honesty lacked a cutting edge in the final quarter of the pitch. That wasn't a problem for Hallam though, as with 83 minutes on the clock Gibson shrugged off close attention from the last defender Ste Hoy to Cooly slot pass Gidley to assure Hallam of the win. HALLAM 3-0.

The final seven minutes went without too much drama for Hallam as Bootle won a succession of free kicks without really threatening goal and The Countrymen went marching on to the next round of prelimary matches where they will face Manchester Based Atherton Collieries of the North premier league division one at Sandygate on the Weekend of the 19th/20th of August.
