Glenn Poulton caught up with Scott Bates following Hallam's first win of the season away to East Yorkshire Carnegie.

Your first win, how does that feel?
Great thanks, traveling that distance in mid week with a full bench shows how much the lads want it credit to them, we rode our luck late on, but the lads never gave up even when our backs was against wall.

A handful of games in so far now, is it going as planned?
Loads of changes have happened regards player personal and it's hard for a new group to gel straight away, having so many out injured and suspended shows you need strength in depth, were still getting to know a few of the new lads and am sure they are us, we take one step at a time.

Plenty of games coming up Saturday/Tuesday/Saturday/Tuesday. Is that a good thing?
Yes definitely, it gives a chance to use our squad, we've been training every Thursday since pre season as well with great turn outs, so shows what all the lads are about.

Any players stood out for you so far?
Both forwards State and Wood have got a couple of goals each in as many games which is nice, but for me our most consistent player has been Billy Wright from the start of season.

With 30 players on the books can we keep them all happy or do we expect some departures?
It will be hard with everybody wanting to play, and hopefully we will be injury free in a couple of weeks, can't fault any players attitude so far.

The FA Vase starting this month (September) is that a happy distraction from the league?
Yes very good distraction, I believe if you get on a good cup run it breeds confidence.

Have you looked at the table yet or do you leave it until later in the season?
Had a little look other night but to be honest I'd rather just concentrate on ourselves, and not worried about the rest of teams, as long as we are doing the right things and all of us pulling in right direction, I am happy.
