All Wells That Ends Well For Hemsworth

Hemsworth Miners Welfare 4 ( Critchlow 5, Connelly 20,44 Dockerty 22)- Hallam 2 (Reed 80, Saxon 87)

Hallam were blitzed by a four goal onslaught in the first half at Hemsworth Miners Welfare but restored late pride to the scoreline in the final moments as The Countrymen's League cup aspirations were ended at the first hurdle..

Danny Critchlow's strike after five minutes plus a Nash Connelly double and a goal from Brad Dockerty sealed victory for the NCEL premier division side before the break.

However, Hallam weren't going to roll over to easily and James Reed netted in the 80th minute before Will Saxon scored on his debut to give The Countrymen something to shout about.

Pre match, it was announced that Andy Fox would be leaving the club after a fine spell at Sandygate. For the benefit of all involved with Hallam FC, I'd like to wish Andy all the best for the future and thank him for some great memories in the Blue and White of 'The Countrymen'.

Hallam are back in League action at Sandygate on Saturday versus Glasshoughton Welfare. Ko 3pm.
