Hallam fought back from two goals down to salvage a point in a compelling encounter in a match dominated by bizarre refereeing decisions.

The Countrymen came into this match knowing that three points was key in their bid to plug a nine point cushion from the play off company. Both Oliver Beaumont and Micah Bishop made starts for Hallam after signing earlier in the week from Penistone and Worksop Town respectively.

In a scrappy opening, neither side found their rhythm as passes went by the wayside and the game failed to get into an Orinoco flow. Worsey' did strike first however as a teasing ball into Hallam box appeared to come off Richard Tootle, and he put through his own net and send the hosts one up on twelve minutes.

Hallam did have more than the lions share of the pocession, though they could not convert this into clear cut chances. And to the visitors dismay, they found themselves two goals in arrears as Callan Rollinson's superb effort avaded Dave Darwent just after the half hour mark.

It just wasn't clicking for Hallam though you always sensed that if the boys from S10 could get one then another would follow soon after and Hallam were indeed offered a gift from Referee Jamie Cogill, when he pointed to the spot after an apparent infringement in the Worsey' box. Jake Currie strode up and duly tucked the penalty away to half the deficit with nineteen minutes remaining. And then two minutes, Hallam were level as  Beaumont netted from close range to get his account  for The Countrymen up and running.

It could have being even better for the Visitors as again Cogill awarded another near penalty for no apparent reason. However former Hallam shotstopper Josh Diggles made a smart save to his left to keep out Sub' Reece Twell's spot kick to provide a hint of justice to the scenario. Again, the man in the middle found himself in the spotlight as he reduced The Briggers to ten man for a rash looking tackle late on.

So, another comeback 2-2 stalemate on the road and Hallam are back on home territory when we entertain Campion at Sandygate next Saturday at 3pm.
