Micah Bish's up a treat!

Hallam 2 ( Bishop 36, Currie 42 pen) Campion 2 ( Morton 14, Robinson 54).

Hallam secured a hard earned point at Sandygate against Campion courtesy of a Oli Beaumont wonder strike and a Jake Currie penalty but still remain eight points adrift of the play offs.

The Countrymen came into this encounter against fellow play off hopefuls Campion knowing that a win was a necessity, in their bid to make a march for the top six.

Though, it was the visitors from Bradford who struck first
on fourteen minutes as Devoute Morton stole in to give the men in red the start they were looking for.
The clash lived up to pre match expectation as both sides put their all into this encounter and it seemed neither team was willing to settle for the eventual stalemate.

And as Half time approached, Hallam got their leveller on 36 minutes in spectacular fashion as Micah Bishop cut inside to launch a stunning effort into the top corner, to register his first goal on his first home reappearance since rejoining from Worksop Town the previous week.
And it got even better for Hallam six minutes later as again, Bishop found space in the Campion box and drew a foul from the defender to earn the Hosts their fourth penalty in as many matches. Jake Currie took responsibility for the spot kick and clinically dispatched to the keeper, Daniel Armitage's right from twelve yards to give The Blues a massive boost going into the break.

The quick-fire turnaround injected new life into The blue and whites, and just moments into the second half, they could have been 3-1 to the good as Patrick Carrig sent a sumptuous cross into the box which Currie met with a diving header, though the Campion Keeper easily saved.
And to Hallam's further dismay, Campion responded by equalizing seconds later as Tom Robinson netted.
The blue touch-paper had been lit and Hallam were zealous to regain the lead and a minute after the Campion goal, they nearly did just that as a goal mouth scramble ensued but unfortunately for the home side, a blue shirt just could not stab the ball home as the action became more compelling by the minute.

Next it was Bishop's turn to go close as he latched onto a loose pass but was equal to it and Armitage saved elegantly to keep Campion on level terms. Hallam were now edging this and again went close as Carrig's header from a teasing corner clipped the bar.

The Countrymen rung in the changes and brought on Mitchell Dunne and Matt Ord for Currie and Bishop respectively to freshen up options going forward as Hallam went in search of that sought after killer blow.
A moment of controversy occurred late on as Ord defied the offside trap to advance down on goal and was brought down by Armitage just outside the area. Despite the incessant Hallam appeals, Ref' Gareth Thomas, only cautioned the Campion Keeper and the resulting free kick was blasted over by Connor Chappell.

That proved to be the final note-worthy action of an entertaining bout of NCEL division one action at Sandygate. So, no win for the Countrymen but a lot of positives to conclude from as we find ourselves back in action at Nostell on Tuesday in a rearranged fixture, KO 745pm.
