A rampant Hallam strolled to a six goal win hence gaining another three points which saw Mitchell Dunne net another four goals to his already hefty goal tally.
After a ten day layoff due to weather related postponements, Hallam came into this fixture in Nottinghamshire, in refreshed circumstances against the NCEL division one strugglers.

And The Countrymen began as they meant to go on as Ben Thornton's bullet header was tipped over by the Home side's number one. And Sam Smith was the next to go close as Dunne's through ball was chipped wide brushing the post in the process. But on twenty minutes, the visitors had the opening goal as Dunne won a free kick in a promising area and he was there to pounce from Smith's neat flick down.

Advantage the team in Blue and white and Ben Thornton did have a couple of chances to extend the lead but first of all fired at the side-netting and then at the keeper. Retford, for their credit did respond well to the renewed Hallam pressure, however  with a one on one and a direct free kick which both failed to hit the target for the hosts. And them opportunities came back to haunt United with twelve first half minutes remaining as Gary Griffiths took advantage of some head pinball in the Retford box to nod home from close range. It was just the ticket Hallam needed going into the half-time interval.

And within seconds of the restart, it was sign-sealed-delivered for Hallam as James Reed found space from a corner and drilled his shot in off a post to give Hallam an almost unassailable three goal cushion.
And it was number four on 55 minutes as Dunne latched onto a through ball and dinked the ball over the keeper to register his second of the game.

And it was five star shortly after as Dunne was fouled in the box and cooly brushed himself off to dispatch the penalty with conviction.
And with seven minutes to go, it was four inspiring for Dunne as he slotted home with almost apparent ease to put the cherry on an already fattening cake for Hallam and in the process, make it TWENTY goals in four games for the Crosspool based club.

Dunne had a worrying fall late on The result sees Hallam climb a place to seventh, on the cusp of the playoffs with games on hand on them above as they look to plug the slender two point gap to the top six in a rearranged fixture at Sandygate on Tuesday, 745pm KO.
