Firstly, I just want to say a big thank you to the chairman for retaining myself and the rest of the coaching staff for the next season. It’s been a pleasure to manage Hallam FC, albeit through a difficult period, and I can’t wait to get back to normal and get a full season completed, push ourselves as far as we can, and compete at the top end of the table.
Ever since last summer when I came on board, the fans have been absolutely fantastic. Their vocal and financial support has been second to none and I personally can’t wait to get as many people in once restrictions have been lifted. Hopefully, we can play some entertaining football and pick the wins up along the way.
Looking ahead towards the next season, we are working hard behind the scenes, with changes being made to the changing room as we continue to look at ways to be improve. In terms of the playing squad, we will be looking to keep hold of the squad we have, with potentially one or two additions. We feel it is a very solid base to start from and with the odd new face, we’ll be in a good position come pre-season and the start of the new campaign.
As well as work in the changing rooms, we are looking to make more improvements off the field. As a club we have lots in the pipeline we can’t wait to share with you. We are looking at increasing the number of functions and events being held at the club, and fully utilising the 1860 Bar and facilities we have including looking into the potential of a comedy club and some celebrity charity games which we’re sure will be popular.
Hopefully, the current situation will continue to improve, the 1860 Bar will be open in mid-April, and follow at Sandygate won’t be far behind. Until then, stay safe and seen you soon.
Up the Countrymen.
