Oh what a night, watching Hallam on a Tuesday night

Hallam FC 3 - 0 Silsden AFC

On a cold and wet November night at the World’s Oldest Football Ground, Hallam FC hosted Silsden AFC. Within 2 minutes of the start, Nathan Cartman scored a goal for Hallam FC, a well-taken shot into the top corner of the net from a Hallam corner. In the 15th minute, Hallam doubled their lead from another corner as Dan Burns rifled his header into the roof of the net. As the weather worsened and we approached half-time, Hallam keeper Hugo Warhurst twice kept out the Silsden attack to keep Hallam 2 up at the break.

The second half continued at the same pace as the first. Hallam was rewarded with a third goal following a positive break down the right wing. The ball crossed across the goal and landed at the feet of Calum Ward, who blasted the ball past the Silsden keeper. It was Hallam that constantly looked more likely to score the next goal, but with the pitch now taking the brunt of the game, the game came to a conclusion. Hallam claimed their 5th victory in a row.
